About the Role

In iptiQ Life & Health Underwriting we have an opportunity for an experienced professional to expand their horizons and join us on our journey to insure more people every day. As a L&H Underwriter based at our Centre of Excellence in Bratislava you will use your knowledge to support the underwriting assessment of new business applications across the EMEA region. You will use our world leading underwriting manual (Life Guide) and collaborate closely with our experienced team of underwriters to make decisions on individual risks. You will also routinely contribute to and sometimes take the lead on any other operational areas of the Underwriting department including underwriting rules development, project work, product development, trainings, reporting, audit, etc.

On a daily basis you will be responsible for managing the following:

• Review of customer information (medical, financial, occupational/recreational) and collection of additional information in order to assess potential customers.
• Evaluate insurance applications and making decisions whether to offer terms in accordance with iptiQ's underwriting standards.
• Data entry of underwriting cases in iptiQ's specialised underwriting systems.
• Working closely with experienced team members both in and outside of Bratislava.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with other iptiQ teams.
• Contribute to the continuous development of iptiQ's underwriting related tools.
• Pro-actively identifying and designing solutions to problems affecting the Underwriting department's ability to meet its objectives.
• Preparation and support for client facing activities to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

This position is with iptiQ, a risk tech scale-up within the Swiss Re Group. iptiQ provides digital bespoke L&H protection products in a B2B2C manner. Founded in 2014, we're transforming the way consumers buy insurance with a unique digital insurance engine which incorporates the latest technology with world-class underwriting capabilities. We build strong partnerships to sell insurance via trusted brands.

About You

• Do you have 3+ years of professional experience and would you like to continue your career in L&H Underwriting with a leading tech-insurance provider?
• Do you have a passion for medical and health related topics?
• Do you have a university equivalent degree?
• Are you proficient in English? (German or another European language is an advantage)
• Do you consistently demonstrate curiosity, creativity and interest to expand your experience and learn new things?
• Are you a team player willing to both lend and get a hand?
• Do you take ownership of your work and act with responsibility and accountability?
• Are you flexible and able to prioritize varied demands of multiple stakeholders?

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and 3,500 EUR per month (for a full-time role).

The specific salary offered considers: the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
