Symetra is a dynamic and growing financial services company with 50 years of experience and customers nationwide. Company History

1957- Established a life insurance business.
1976- Pioneered Medical Stop Loss.
1987- Began selling annuities through banks.
1999- Passed the $30 billion mark of life insurance in force.
2004- Became an independent company- Symetra Financial.
2006- Began the "Symetra Heroes in the Classroom" program honoring K-12 teachers- in partnership with Seattle Seahawks (add other NFL teams in 2010 ad 2011).
2011- Began sponsoring the "Symetra Tour", proving women golfers the opportunity to prepare for a career on the LPGA.
2013- Launched a national advertising campaign to help tell the Symetra story.
2016- Joined Sumitomo Life, a global life insurer. Symetra Financial Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Life Insurance Company.
2017- Our 60th year as life insurance company.
